Hybrid Off-Grid Systems

Contrary to what many people believe, off-grid doesn’t often mean 100% solar. Many off-grid systems are hybrid systems connected to a backup generator that turns on automatically in the event of a power failure or during extended periods of bad weather where there is little sunshine. Quite a few systems these days have solar batteries as well, extending the amount of time they can provide power without needing to switch on the backup generator.
